TjoeTjoe Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Please, if possible, to have some more information about this new feature especially referred to fax received What type of informations can be sent by this method Thanks Diego As Richard mentions, this detail information is available in the Wiki under the given link Main entry page is the Line Operation Manual In short what you can do with it is the following: - send a fax to an other dispatcher or all dispatchers on a line (when in Line Operations). Read this as just an instruction or information for your collegues on the line - send a fax to an other dispacther or all dispatchers on a line to announce (or withdraw) extra traffic on the line, and actually activating or deactivating this extra traffic using traffic codes The last can also be done when running your simulation stand-alone. Just send a fax to yourself (or just Send to all) in which your activate or deactivate extra traffic. This feature allows that the Signalsoft team can maintain just one timetable for an entire line (or whatever simulation) and leave it to the user(s) how much extra traffic will be active in the simulation. Really nice feature from my point of view. Erwin
intallonabile Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Erwin, if i well undesrtand. If i set the option for extraordinary train and in the timetable i have additional trains scheduled i receive a fax for this ? This option works even if i work (as usual for me) stand alone and not connected to others players and others simulations on the same PC ? thanks for the reply Diego
signalsoftRC Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 yep, you set up an a "traffic" code and you will get those trains extra that are in the timetable marked with that same code.
intallonabile Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Thanks to Richard for fast reply Diego

I start Remagen with the last Project_Rheingold timetable (timetable without Freight) I set in occurrences an high probability of extra trains but in fax window i can not enter in "traffic options" menu . How can i activate traffic options ? Thanks
TjoeTjoe Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 please. I start Remagen with the last Project_Rheingold timetable (timetable without Freight) I set in occurrences an high probability of extra trains but in fax window i can not enter in "traffic options" menu . How can i activate traffic options ? Thanks The last public available Project_Rheingold table does not have the required Traffic Code field, so you will not have any Traffic options when using that .mdb . But why would you use that "old" timetable (of course it should become available at some time so that anyone can customize it as per personal needs)? The current built-in timetable is actually project_rheingold - Rechtsrheinisch Gesperrt.mdb if I am not wrong. However, if you do not activate any Traffic Codes, the timetable actually works as the good-old Project_Rheingold.mdb (without extra freight) I am not sure about the trains with used to be generated when playing with the Chance for Extra trains settings. If I understood it all correct, then any extra trains now need to be defined and marked with a Traffic Code in the database. So any kind of extra trains, compared to the normal timetable, should now be activated using Traffic Codes. It could mean, but do not know that for sure, that this Chance for Extra trains option is more or less obsolete. But again, not sure, but it is how I understood it. If you have an existing mdb and you want to use that one, then you can add a field named "ActivityCode" (type=text) in the Timetable table. In this field , fill in a name for those trains you want to mark as extra traffic. You may use the same name for more then one train. Each unique name in the ActivityCode field will be listed in the Traffic Code list in the Fax system. You can also fill in "Yes" . Maybe, this is the value used for the real extra trains (the Germans call these trains Sondernzuge) Erwin
