Maniac302 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Okay, I'm having two problem trains that will not proceed, even though the signal in the direction they want to go is green. Train 66576 is a through train, stopped signal 136, and Loc>D 10 will not proceed west to couple up with his train, he is stopped at signal 252, with a westbound arrow on the train monitor. Did I do something wrong?
signalsoftRC Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I need a bunch of more details in able to answer this. There are many reasons a train does not move. Even if a signal ahead shows proceed! some of the basics: - is the train seeing the signal? (is it facing it?) I've had myself sometimes that I clear a signal .... and realize the train is facing the other way! - is the departure time of the train passed? A train doesn't want to leave early! - is the route set in the right direction? certainly at Signal 252 this IS an issue! Train drivers don't like to be sent in a wrong direction. Though normally they call in for that purpose and moan! - I would not expect the Loc>D 10 to be at signal 252 at all... it should have a turnaround order for track f (Oostzijde). If that order is deleted.... AND you clear signal 209 you indicate sort of to the driver that he should proceed. So who deleted that movement order for the Oostzijde (eastside)? - does the 66576 have movement orders for Arnhem? it might not want to proceed.... - did the 66576 have a turnaround/couple/uncouple order that requires the train to fulfill some operation actions? (brake test or the likes) it might take some time to execute this - is the irregularities and defects option activated? the train might be broken! - is the 66576 an electric train? does it have power? yes, indeed I did that too... earthing of a group and forgetting the standing trains to inform... :-) and I can go on... you see... many parameters to know in order to answer correctly...
Maniac302 Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 66576 is a direct train for Zv to Wf, with no stops. It has no movement orders. Yes, the irregularities option is turned on. But, shouldn't the driver have phoned me up if there's something wrong? He was standing for quite some time. (It's not the driver that's broken, is it? XD) With Loc>D 10, I modified his movement orders a little, to help get him where he was supposed to go, since I had screwed up, but in the end, he was facing west, while sitting at Ahp2, but he would not move. His only remaining movement order was to couple with a trainset on sp4.
signalsoftRC Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 @ 66576, yes he should have called up if he's encountered a defect. Drivers can't be "defect" only machines. (Drivers incapacity is VERY rare in railways) What was its exact location? Signal 136 you said. so he would have "seen" a phone in the area. Though there are many reasons why he could be standing and NOT calling in... future departure time is one of the reasons when he won't call in. I really can't find the reason with little information. @Loc>D10: I don't know in detail what happened there to answer the question. Did you save the simulation? in that case you can send me the .sim file to the known feedback email address (see manual)
