a big error

this evening i have given an order for a train stopped at entrance signal in Remagen while a light loco was starting from track 6 towards Oberwinter, The first train before to crash with the light loco stopped and when light loco passed in front of him re-start trailing the switch that was in wrong position.i thought to be fired from my boss but this not happened !!!!

pheraps is christmas in advance for a bad signaller as me !!!

In reality: well I think your boss would have send you home whilst official investigation of the incident is in progress. When official report is ready, then yes, you are likely to get fired

In the simulation: it has been stated that the simulation is not a crash-simulation. If a crash occurs, you will not even see this, the simulation will just stop and tells you that your are fired.

However, as you have instructed a train to pass a signal at danger, the driver must have passed this signal driving on sight. Of course, the train driver is very talented (more talent then the dispatcher ;-) ) and noted that something bad was about to happen, and thus stopped. So fortunately, no crash.

Trailing the switch is interessting though. This must have given an alarm on the panel. Did that happen? At least I expect that you must have operated the WAT button after this occurence right?

As it is a simulation after all, you will not get fired immediately at any time. There are also points to learn from.

Anyway, pending the official investigations I wish you a merry christmas in advance. :)

Hello Erwin. yes, i had a sound alarm and i revoke the buzzer with WAT button. But after this i tried to move the switch for another route (in the same position where the switch was trailed) and entrance signal become green.

For the rest (pending official investigation) i try to have a good merry Christmas in advance . This is the first important error in my 28 years of railway. The last i remember is in 1985. I worked as young signaller in a little station with simple stellwerke (Mechanic levers). Temperature was very cold (-15) and there was a very strong wind (it was the 13 of january) For the first train in the morning at 3:56 i close manually the first railroad crossing not protected by my entrance signal. After 3 minutes i must close another RR crossing (this was protected by my signal entrance) but for error i re-opened the first (the lever of both railroad crossing where side by side) and after i close for the first time the other RR crossing (protected by signal) and opened the signal

The train arrive in my station and i noticed immediately the driver very angry with me because he passed at 140 km/h the RR Crossing totaly opened !! fortunately was a litlle street going into a farm and at 3:45 in the morning all people was sleeping
