Directional numbers (stuurcijfers)

I downloaded the sim a few days ago, read up a little on how it should work, and started playing. I noticed the entry signals are automatic, because they set themselves. For me that makes sense, if the signalling system knows which train is approaching. If a train with directional number 9 approaches signal A from direction Erle, the train is guided to platform 2, and then to Dortheim. This also works with train from Dortheim to Erle, at signal F they are guided to platform 1 and on to Erle. So far so good. Now there is a RB-train from Erle with directional number 3, and destination Celle. It should be automatically guided to track 3, then 3.2 and then on to Celle. But the following happens:

Train number 7701 goes to track 2, and then on to Dortheim. The driver never complains about being sent the wrong way. Is this normal, or am I missing something essential?

The second thing I'd like to know is what the blue glow is around the signals on the mainline, and around the group buttons on the panel.

Thanks in advance.

The "directional numbers" are better known as steering numbers.

the fact that each train in Germany has also a steering number assigned, does not mean that the signal box systems itself also has the logic to do something with that.

And in case of Kleinstadt, the steering number do not affect the automatic route setting.

The signals around the station are equipped with "auto fleeting", which means that the system will set a default route when a train approached. Of course, only if auto fleeting is enabled for the signal.

More about Auto Fleeting in the SignalWiki - Fleeting signals (Selbststellbetrieb) , enabling is done with the SBET + Signal Button, disabling = SBRT + Signal Button

The blue glow are transparent collars. These will prevent you from accidentaly pressing those buttons. See : SignalWiki - Collars.
