technical question

some minutes ago i had a short freight tain (less than 400 meters) near an ICE both trains moving from north towards Koblenz. So i decided to keep the first train at Bad Godesberg passengers station in track 24 and to send in advance from BBG the ICE on main track. Notice that i had set at zero problems and irregularities. When the first train (freight) has come to a stop i noticed that the automatic route setting from signal R101 was not able to open the entrance signal 101 (the [] near signal was not light) and i noticed that the track circuit on track 24 was red on the side of the tail of freight train

But in movements order window the freight trains was at 10 meters from his signal N24 snd so i deduced that train had not in reality his tail on entrance part of track 24 so i decided to use AzGrt button and the rear of track 24 immediately was free. In the same time signal R101 become green.

I ask Richard if this is a normal behaviour (with irregularities at zero) of stellwerke to prevent errors or if there is something wrong in this

Thanks for the reply

Sorry for my bad english

The way things are currently implemented in the sim, it is possible to have defective axle counters even when no 'irregularities and defects' are selected at the beginning of the sim.

Currently, this defect is not strictly random (unlike the other defects that occur when 'irregularities and defects' are enabled). This might change in the future, though.

Interesting information here. Never run into this situation, except in my own scenarios (but there I had to 'programm' the axle counter failure.

Anyway, with respecy to the 'irregularities and defects'-setting I would like to submit the feature request to split this setting into some categories

Example:

- train failures : chance for trains having a technical problem

- infrastructure/signalling : chance for failure of axle counters, track circuits, signals, switches

- ??? any other possible category which does not come to my mind right now

Doing this, a user can select more in detail which defects he wants to happen (0 - 100%) and which not

Yes, this is a possibility, though we should avoid making the settings too complicated. These things might better be controlled by Expert Options in the settings window.
