Diagonal Purple Line across ZNP801 Screen

This doesn't appear to have been mentioned so I'm guessing it's only happened to me so far.

When I'm not using the ZNP801 train describer I get a diagonal purple line across its screen from bottom left to top right. When I click into the ZNP to offer or accept a train this line disappears but as soon as I navigate away from ZNP (click in another box) the line reappears. Is this a bug?

I've tried to post a screenshot but neither Internet Explorer nor Google Chrome will let me copy from my clipboard.

I get the same Phil, but it does not appear to affect the operation of ZNP801.

it is the same diagonal stripe as in the number entry panel.

It means that the window for that function "does not have the focus". As you know, windows works with windows.... any keyboard entries done by the user only goes to the currently active window. that window has, as it is called "the focus".

To indicate to our user that your keyboard entry does NOT go to that simulated apparatus (like the ZNP or the Number Entry), we've chosen to draw a purple stripe through the screen.

This because you cannot easily see if a window has "the focus" or not.

Otherwise you start typing something and it goes to the wrong window....

Like typing in a train number into the ZNP it goes to the Number Entry panel..... Doesn't work then :-)

Thanks for both of your replies.

I've not had cause to use the Number Entry panel yet with Mathilde but it never happened with my older sims (it is a while since I've played so that may have changed with any updates) so that's what made me wonder if it was a bug.

Thanks for explaining the reasoning Richard, it is extremely annoying to find you've typed something only to find the text hasn't gone where you expected to, and this change will prevent that.

Now I just need to figure out how long it will take to clear up the collision I've just had with an out-of-gauge load and the train passing on the adjacent line.

The purple line thing at the znp is a thing that got in in the last two weeks. The number entry always had it. After a next update all sims will have it.

The focus thing is a windows oddity, that's inavoidable.

There seems to be an issue where the user is not warned for an og train. But I've not had it myself. You have to watch the fax machine regularly.

We're looking at it, but can't reproduce it yet.
