Catenary earthing

Hi. I received a request from engineering to earth the catenary ALL and then a track number (i think 628) was mentioned. Thinking the earthing would only affect this track i allowed it. Shortly after all the trains stopped and i got the sack.

When the engineer says 'catenary ALL' does he mean the entire catenary in the controlled tracks - so all electric trains will stop?

If this is so - what should be the procedure?

The procedure is : do not do anything with the catenary system for the moment.
Refuse any requests for this, otherwise you will get into trouble

The catenary system is on the to-do-be-completed list , meaning you do not have control over it, plus that there are no catenary sections (yet)

So for that reason it does not make sense either to enable the option "Manual catenary control" or something liek that

Ok Erwin - thanks.

Should i have known this - is there some information i have missed?

No, you did not miss anything here. There have been several postings on this subject in the German forums though.

In general, all the simulations of the Rheingold series and currently EMAF as well, do not have catenary controls (anymore)

For the Rheingold series this mainly has to do with the complexity of this function, as those simulations can be connected together, and thus certain sections are common to neighbouring panels.

As EMAF (Mathilde) is a stand-alone simulation for the moment (no idea if this can be connected to the Duisburg Hbf sim in future) the Signalsoft team had stated to implement catenary controls pretty soon and submit an update, but at the moment lack of time (read: other projects) have delayed this.
