Koln 2012 - Train Descriptions Not Stepping from Koln-Nippes

I have just started running this sim for the first time and I've noticed a problem with main line trains approaching from Koln-Nippes. Their train description numbers appear correctly in describer berth 528 and then step correctly to berth 526, but then disappear when they should step into berth 524 and do not re-appear (they also disappear from the Generic Panel screen). I am having to manually interpose the numbers into berth 524, which is ok during the quiet night hours (I started the sim at 0001hrs), but when it gets busier in the early morning it will be hard to keep up with having to interpose every number. Have any other players experienced this? I also have the original Koln sim and all the descriptions step as they should do.

Phil.

Hi Phil,

I've played Köln 2012 very often and never had this problem before.

But as I remember to have installed an update to version 3.4.0.7 on Nov 13, I started the program just some minutes ago and watched the RE D 8-10720 coming in from KKN.

The same bug you have discribed above appeared, too.

So this is new and likely caused by the last update.

Hi Helmut,

I installed the sim on my computer and installed the update immediately afterwards so I never ran the sim in its old version. 8-10720 was the first train I noticed it happen to, along with the next two trains. I will uninstall it then re-install without downloading the update and see what happens.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi again Helmut,

I have uninstalled the updated sim, reinstalled my original download version V3.2.1.129 and not downloaded the update, and now train descriptions are stepping normally. The new version would appear to contain a bug. I shall continue using V3.2.1.129 until this bug is fixed.

Thanks again for your help.

Phil.

ha... nothing changed there actually.... but I'll investigate and see what causes it.. thanks for the repro!

Indeed NOTHING did change... it was caused by solving a bug in the block relay management code that did not take in account the overlap of the last signal in a block (the entrance signal) in certain cases.

Now the better code did this....

The data of Cologne has this overlap section behind the entrance signal of the junction. it's small, but it's there.

and THERE a dataflag was set inproperly.

And with the bug in the block relay management being solved this flag was important....

solved now by setting the dataflag correctly...

version 3.4.0.8 is online now

Thanks for the prompt correction.

Hello Richard,

The revised version now works for me too, train descriptions are stepping normally from KKN.

Thanks for resolving this issue so promptly.

Regards,

Phil.
