Joining trains

Hi all

I'm a bit of a newbie to this sim so trying to get my head around it still

ive got an issue with a train joining at arnham berg sp23 loc>4076 doesnt seem to want to join the empty cars waiting for it. it detached ok and i routed it to sp51 where it reversed and went to arnham kap sp 5a and promtly changed ends again no prob as per movement orders. i then routed loc.4076 back to sp23 on restricted signal, the loco moves but then stops short blocking junction 90 and refuses to join. IS this a bug or have i done somethin wrong. Sim time 04.51, any thoughts greatly recieved.

Also just another quick question.. when a train terminates and has no other instructions and doesnt make another timetable movement, what should i do with it, some instructions say goto sp27 but then no more detail as to what the train does?? is the train expected to sit there all day or can i move it anywhere i wish..

many thanks in advance

p.s great sim by the way

note that with an older version of Post T Arnhem, if a loco wants to couple with a train, it must be on a complete track rather than standing in the switches. If you turn on the expert option "can couple in switches" it does NOT work for the 4076 in the older versions.

if you have the latest version, the switcher and engineer will couple, push the train behind the signal and prepare for departure. Just as they would do in real life.

if a train has "no further target or orders" in general it becomes a spare train. Stable it where you like (don't forget to send the staff home, otherwise they will bug you every now and then.)

Use the train at your pleasure. In 1965 the signallers were pretty powerful in such decisions!
