Rail Traffic Controller

Hi i have Rail traffic controller volume 1, and Rail traffic controller volume 2 is on my christmas list. Can you please tell me if there will be anymore future boxed editions and what sims will be included. Also with regard to degraded signalling operations can you make it more clearer in the manual with regard to passing signals at danger with authority and track circuit failures as here in the uk when authorised to pass a signal at danger we are authorised by the signalman over the cab secure radio or signal post telephone verbally. We do not use written orders for passing signals at danger only for single line working and tempory block working if two or more signals have failed.

thanks

Rail Traffic Controller Vol 3 is out as well. (don't know when it will be in the UK though)

Vol. 3 contains Bonn and Gelsenkirchen. Demos are available already.

future releases:

We plan to release 4-5 boxes in 2011.

A UK layout is in the planning.

and a UK layout will follow UK operational rules. ;-)

Hi cep,

in germany we also use phones to call the driver and then we will give him this orders to proceed a signal. The dispatcher dictates the written orders to the driver. The driver writes this orders to the order paper. After a check, if all was written right, then the orders will be signed with the names of the dispatcher and the driver to become valid.

The easier way is to lock the switchchain, switch all switches into the right direction, lock this switches with the switch lock option and give the engineer the special signal with "ErsGT" and signal button. If a little triangle lights up on the signal, the engineer has the order to proceed this signal. Look for more details to this special way into your manual.

Have fun with the simulations.

Bye

Know if you cant wait to buy the simulations, you can buy and download it from http://shop2.signalsoft.nl/index.php?language=en . ;-)

It also makes a great gift, just in time for the holidays!

Hi Fdl Wuppertal thank you for your kind advice i shall use your suggestion for locking the points/switches when authorizing driver's to pass signal's at danger. I must admit these sim's have more of a learning curve as i am used to English sim's such as Simsig. For your information i used to drive trains on British Rail and now drive trains with London Underground and find that the German and Dutch sim's put you to the test as these sim's are the first to use the entrance and exit signalling system.

...sim's are the first to use the entrance and exit signalling system.

They are not the first, as I am aware of some older simulations made back in the 90s. These, as I understand it, were very costly and intended for use within railway companies for training purposes.
