ZLA_JB Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Well continuing in my training I noticed a few odd panel issues. 1. Occasionally, and for no reason I can determine points that should go normal for a train to run through both go into double reverse forcing the train to 'wiggle' over the switch at low speed, for example I ran an IC train ES-HG switches 201 and 213 reverse instead of staying normal. Meanwhile after the train passes a Stop train goes HG-ES the switches remain normal. It would seem if it was a points failure the switch wouldn't detect and it would be stuck in one position. Hmmmm. 2. Also Amelo 203A the exit button is arrowed against the direction of travel, perhaps it should point to the dead-end. 3. At Wierden there is a switch labeled Wissel Verwarming. From a translation and my limited Dutch it seems this is a switch heater, when and how should this be operated? 4. At the very fringes of the panel there's a group of buttons that read: Omschakelen Draaggolfapp, Herstel Commando and Controle Signalering. They seem non-functional, but what is their purpose in general? 5. Not panel related but starting on a late Sunday night I have all trains stabled in Enschede for their morning runs, with no trains on the panel or in the train list the shunt trains call over the radio for their routes into Enschede for trains not set to leave for another 12hrs, any info on that, unfortunately the save got deleted by mistake.
signalsoftRC Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 1. if a route is not possible, an alternative is taken automatically. So for some reason one of both switches might have been locked. It's up to the dispatcher to observe the correct working of the lamps/lights to detect errors like that. In the 50-60ies as they designed those panels from GRS they didn't install any kind of warning systems for defects errors. (not REALLY needed actually. In your case nothing dangerous happened. Train just got a bit slower) 2. this only seems to happen AFTER you placed/deleted a danger label. The bug was solved already, but we have to wait with an update until the neighbour connection code is ready. We can't update right now, due to the fact that the changes happening are immense) 3. it's working, you need to turn it on if frost is forecasted. Some switches in a rare case might get out of correspondence. BUT we don't evaluate it if you do it wrong. 4. They don't work yet, as they have to deal with a neighbour connection. 5. can you reproduce it again and send us the .sim file? thanks!
ZLA_JB Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 Thanks, I figured 1 was a reroute however there didn't seem to be a problem with the switch as they detected normal and reverse properly. 4: I figured they would be an upcoming feature, what purpose would they serve if working? I'll work on the harrasing phone calls (oddly the shunter calls on the telerail but doesn't answer the Porto or the telerail when the call is returned immediately, rather strange).
ZLA_JB Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Another odd thing I have noticed is when working without the enhanced button illumination (F2 key) on the dim setting when selecting a route using the F2 again will cause the panel to reset switch indicators to normal. That is set a route in the low panel light setting after the switches lock in position pressing F2 causes the panel to represent the switches as normal and unlocked.
1347 Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 The image behind. The switch lights up red, and can not be switched off.
TjoeTjoe Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 If yo set a route over a switch, then yes the red indicators in the switch symbol will stay as long a the route is set and no train has passed over it Well, that is when no irregularities have occured. They will only disappear when ... .... a train has passed over the switch(es) and cleared them ... the route being set has been revoked. Switches will be released 2 minutes after revoking the route Erwin
1347 Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Enschede 327,329,331 switch was "busy". The technician can not erase.
graham Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Hi 1347, Have the switches become defective? Sometimes I notice that the technician (power reset) does not work. What I try and do is pass another train over the switches if possible and this will release them. Until such time they can be released I work around the problem, not always easy.
Dre Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 If you move the switch keys in Wierden, Almelo, Enschede or Oldenzaal you have to send the command to the switch itself by pushing the red button directly under the switch key group (see page 20 of the manual for more information). A power reset will not work, as this is the normal way of operation for a GRS-NX panel.
Hobbyman Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Enschede 327,329,331 switch was "busy". The technician can not erase. What do you mean ? Switches are busy: The white light on top of the panel is flashing. or Switches are locked: The red light in the switch is on. The latest is a problem that is build in the software. Such a technical problem can happen when the "Irregularites and Failures" is not in the 0 % position. Send another train over the switches and most times the problem is solved. Some times setting the same route again and revoke the route will solve the problem. That takes 2 minutes. With kind regards, Leo
