Main Signal KKSA

Featured Replies

I noticed that the last main signal for trains coming from H K to Koln Sud (Signal KKSA) always open only the green light at the top but the advanced signal (vorsignale) remains yellow for all trains (this means that the next signal is red). Is this a random function in the simulation and it is possible for some trains to pass with main and advanced signal all at green (i.e for most important trains as IC and ICE or EC trains) or for all trains is always green the main signal and yellow the advanced signal ?

Good evening

In my opinion you don't need to care about the advanced signal, because it does not belong there ;) This signal is the entrance signal of station Köln-Süd, which is operated by another signal box; the advance signal therefore is for the exit signal of Köln-Süd.

The block type which is used (in the simulation) between Köln-Süd and Kalscheuren only needs a feedback from the first main signal of the next signal box (in case of some technical problems you must be sure that the next signal shows "stop"). A feedback from the advanced signal, however, is not necessary and therefore does not exist. I wonder if it is even possible to construct this with the old technique in Köln-Süd...

BTW: The correct name for this signal would be KKS, not KKSA ;) KKSA is Köln-Süd junction, which is only passed by goods trains (can be reached via Eifeltor). KKS is the station Köln-Süd, where the short-distance trains stop and the other passenger trains pass through.

The signal has a distance signal for future connection to Köln-Süd (KKS). As we need some track there "now" to get the sim up and running, the distant signal shows "expect stop", as there is no next signal in this version of the sim.

As soon as you can link up to Cologne-South, the distant signal will show a proper aspect.

For now it's called Signal "A" (Entrance Signal for Cologne South), and as to prevent a conflict with another Signal "A" in de sim, it's called KKSA.

Yes, it's true, this signal doesnt belong to me and so i must not worry about his aspect when train ar on track. i have written my post only because i consider Signal soft simulations the best product at disposal with a level of realism as real signals box, so it was not so normal for me to have all trains entering in Koln Sud with an "espect red" warning from andvanced signal

Thanks for yur reply
