signalsoftRC Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 The option was introduced with the dutch signal panels. in some cases you there can activate a signal and press an end button and have no feedback at all whether the route has been set at all. Some people there asked me if a little beep could be produced. For the German panels, there is ALWAYS feedback if a route is being set or not. Whether by the row of lights lighting up or the square indicator at a signal. So in principle we don't need the sound feedback on the German panels. However, we are trying to get in an option that allows you to prevent to set a train route that would NOT fully be set due to flanking problems. There we would have a sound beep if the route is going to be set. Though, even after looking into for a couple of hours... it's far from easy to do that option. At the moment you press start/end button for a train route, we do NOT know if the train route could be fully set. This has to do with the way the German panels safety levels that are set up for each train route. The moment you press start/end for a train route, ONLY the safety level for shunt routes is being checked. The safety level for train routes comes after that, and is way more complex, due to the required flank protection. And once that is set, there are even more checks that take place. Those checks are done "live" like in the relay circuits. They even can change AFTER you have pressed start/end. And that makes it complex to predict if the requested train route would be successful... Hence we don't have the beepy thing working there yet. I think i'm close to a solution, but that's a lot of work to do right now. Hence we have left the option in the settings in, for a future implementation for the German panels.
