Trains Not in Trains Overview Reported Running Late By Wrong Signalbox

I'm running Koblenz-Lutzel with the downloaded 1996 Rheingold timetable in operation from 0500hrs Wednesday 05 June 1996 and with some delay probability set, and I get a calls from Weissenthurm telling me "Train ***** is +**, arriving after *****. Thanks!"

This happened once and I noticed that neither train ever arrived, but it has just happened again at 0825hrs with the message, "Train 46717 is +30,arriving after 60463. Thanks!", so I looked deeper into it and found that there are two issues here.

Firstly, trains 46717 and 60463 are not listed in the 'Trains Overview' window, but secondly, when I enter their numbers in the 'Time Table Viewer' window the numbers are recognised but both trains show as booked to approach from Neuwied and not Weissenthurm. In this case also, neither train ever arrived. I'm puzzled!

Has this kind of situation happened with other players, in this or any other sims?

Aside from this small issue, I'm really enjoying this sim with its mix of freight and passenger traffic, with slower and faster trains to keep your eye on,the trains which are booked to call at Urmitz Platform 3, and the trains which are booked towards Neuwied which, if you don't keep your eye on will be signalled automatically towards Weissenthurm.

Regards,

Phil.

Hi Phil,

this problem shows up in all simulations of the Rheingold-series.

With the fax it is possible to enable a traffic code that leads all freight trains from the right side of the Rhine (Neuwied-Linz-Köln) to the left side (Andernach-Bonn-Hürth-Köln) as a detour. (These trains are marked in the timetable (PDF) with a "U". 46717 and 60463 belong to this group.)

As I think this option is also running in the background even if you have disabled it. If you now play with the probability of delays the system also causes delays of these detour trains. The call of your neighbour in that case seems to be a bug. But as you don't see this train in top of the list in the "Trains Overview" you can ignore it.

Regards

Helmut

Oh, interesting!

If a train is delayed (we add the delays in mins to the original time) and discover that there are other trains before that train, we trigger that message. Nothing else is changed that would case the train not appearing. We can set certain flags, but they're not touched at all.

Now you say they seem to have a different entry point.

We might investigate the timetable then.

We'll have a look at it. Currently we are rewriting a bunch of code about the neighbour stuff.

Thanks helmut, that's some useful additional info!
