Trains 78322 and 720 Will Not Couple in Essen Rbf Track 315

Running timetable Wednesday 09 October 2013, train 78322 (1 x ICE3) stands on Essen Rbf Track 315. Train 720 (formed of 2 x ICE3) should couple to 78322 is too long to fit fully inside signal Ero 315 and the two trains will not couple, even after inserting movement orders instructing them to couple.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Phil.

Hi Phil,

yes this is a mistake in the timetable.

Train 78322 should only operate on Mondays (in the timetable it is actually Mo - Th). And on Mondays train 720 should come along with only 1 x ICE 3 (the movement order is programmed on Monday).

Tuesday till Friday there should be no 78322 and train 720 comes along with 2 x ICE 3 and changes the direction on Ero 315.

On Saturdays train 720 (2 x ICE 3) continues to Dortmund Hbf.

On Sundays train 720 comes with only 1 x ICE and couples on Ero 315 with train 722 (comes with 1 x ICE 3).

All this and some other mistakes in the timetable are reported to the team but since the release of Essen Hbf nobody seems to have had some time for the correction.

So if you have MS Access you can make the changes (bold letters) on your own. Otherwise give another train number to the train 78322 on arrival at track Ero 315 (i.e. the number of the last ICE that left Essen Hbf in direction to EMRY and EDG) and let it go somewhere to have no problems with a too long train.

I remember I once tried to couple the trains and it worked. But the train did not fit in the track Ero 315. The same happens at the platform. The fully length is then 603 m. The second train (in this case 720) needs the order to couple with the waiting train (in this case 78322). But 3 x ICE is not to be found in reality.

Thanks for your informative reply Helmut.

I will give 78322 another number and send it on its way.

I appreciate that the Signalsoft development team are busy working on new sims for now so little bugs like this one will take a back seat for now.

Thanks again,

Regards,

Phil.
