AndrewG Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I was having a play around today with a friend and I managed to successfully start some sessions. Two questions I was hoping some more experienced members might be able to help me with: 1. On one session the Client could see TC occupation and route set lights but nothing was displayed in the Train Describer berths. Is this linked to the Internet speed and a common issue? 2a. On the German simulations is it possible for the Host & Client to set routes simultaneously in the same interlocking area or does one route need to be accepted first? 2b. If there is a restriction does this apply to all simulations or is it only a restriction on larger simulations within the same interlocking area? Thanks in advance for any comments/guidance received.
TjoeTjoe Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 1. On one session the Client could see TC occupation and route set lights but nothing was displayed in the Train Describer berths. Is this linked to the Internet speed and a common issue? Are we talking here about one specific session, but played with one and the same simulation? 2a. On the German simulations is it possible for the Host & Client to set routes simultaneously in the same interlocking area or does one route need to be accepted first? As far as I know, it should be possible yes. Especially when you are using the Number Entry Panel system 2b. If there is a restriction does this apply to all simulations or is it only a restriction on larger simulations within the same interlocking area? The simulations are all built on the same simulation engine. So in general you could say that if there is a restriction or a feature available, it will be available in any simulation. But again, in general.
AndrewG Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Thanks for your comments. I must admit I haven't tried entering routes with the Number Entry Panel system but will give it a go. I was more thinking of using the Entrance and Exit buttons. In terms of the missing Train Descriptions the simulation was Wuppertal HBF and I have started a new session tonight with same issue. I started a session and then joined as a Client. Descriptions visible on the Server session but not on the Client session.

I was more thinking of using the Entrance and Exit buttons. Yes that should be possible, as long as you are not pressing the same buttons of course. Descriptions visible on the Server session but not on the Client session. Just tested this for Wuppertal Hbf, and yes, I am seeing the same issues here. As Wuppertal Hbf has seen a couple of updates in the past, my guess here is that the Multiplayer plug-in has gotten out of sync with Wuppertal Hbf-simulation for this part. I will raise an issue in the Bug Tracker system for this. Tried it as well for Wuppertal-Oberbarmen, and there things seem to be fine, so is isolated to the Wuppertal Hbf simulation
signalsoftRC Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 you can make in Multiplayer the same errors as in real life... if two persons press on the same button with their fingers, it WILL work If two persons hammer in the same route with the number entry panel at the same time. it WILL work only once... The other once simply does nothing. We're not different that way. Thanks for the train descriptor bug. it's in the tracker.
AndrewG Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Thanks for your responses and logging the TD bug. I'm UK based and the reasoning behind the multiple route setting was on some UK NX panels only so many routes can be set simultaneously within the same interlocking area.
